What this is
Most English-language information about kei trucks is either a sales listing or a forum post. This site exists to be the boring, checkable middle: what the class regulations actually say, which chassis code means what, how an auction sheet is graded, and how the import rules differ between countries.
Who publishes it
This site is published by the same people who run Japan Mini Trucks, a Japan-based service that sources kei trucks in Japan and coordinates export. We are stating that plainly rather than pretending the two are unrelated.
The reference material here is written to be accurate whether or not you ever buy anything from us. Where a fact is unfavourable to a sale — that a model has poor parts support, that a state restricts registration, that a grade is worse than it sounds — it is written that way.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Chassis code conventions and auction grading in particular have edge cases, and regulations change.
